I photographed a young ballet dancer in Leigh who has gained a place at The Royal Ballet School in London. I did quite a few dark, moody photos using the mirrors in the dance studio we were in . The paper went for some tighter , brighter shots I did, but this was my favourite photo of the set.

I was sent off to Collyhurst, a deprived area of Manchester, to photograph some maisonette houses which the council had proposed knocking down. I was asked to do some general views of the houses and do a portrait of a resident who was unhappy with the proposal. There was a pretty strong sense of community spirit there and nobody was happy with the idea of knocking down the houses and the breakdown of the community that would follow... however, the housing is delapidated and in need of modernising so maybe in the long term it would be beneficial.

My favourite picture of the set was the two kids playing in front of the houses.
The paper ran the portrait of the resident.

Caribbean Carnival

I was photographing the Moss Side Caribbean Carnival on Saturday for the M.E.N. It was great fun to cover... and the sun came out just as the procession set off!

I'm only going to post new pictures and not trawl through my portfolio dragging out old stuff. Although my older work can be seen at www.chrisbullphotographer.com if you're interested
I'm going to be posting my favourite pictures taken over each week, either for work or just for my own amusement. Occasionally this is the same thing!
Welcome to my photoblog! Thanks for checking out my first tentative steps into the blog world. I'll be twittering before you know it!
