A Hive of Activity

It has been said that the sillhouette is the last bastion of the charlatan. I am partial to one every now and again though this one was at a beekeeping class I photographed for the MEN on Friday.

Photographing actor Derek Griffiths at the Royal Excange Theatre brought back hazy childhood memories from when he used to read the stories on Playschool many moons ago.

Sunshine on a rainy day

I was set the task of taking some pictures to illustrate people enjoying warm weather in manchester last sunday after I'd finished a couple of morning jobs. Unfortunately by the time I'd finished the earlier jobs and got to the city it wasn't particularily hot. The one of the kid with his mum in the fountain made the paper though and I took the opportunity to do a stock silhouette shot of the Manchester Wheel.

Jurassic Park!

I got to photograph the Walking with Dinosaurs ,erm, dinosaurs as they arrived at the MEN arena. The crew were really edgy about what I photographed , not wanting the illusion of the show ruined by pictures of T Rex in bits in the paper. Fair enough. It meant that I could photograph the Stegasauras coming off the lorry as his mechanical bits were covered up. Then I got about a minute to photograph a stage hand with stegs head. Obviously , as it was rushed and the crew were stressed, my flash trigger battery decided to die, which helped.

On my way back from a job in Lancaster I headed over to Morecambe for a blast of sea air.
