Morning spent photographing the Duke of York meeting a Nobel prize winning scientist , afternoon spent photographing an out of work cleaner , in her bedsit in Ancoats , who is fighting to get holiday pay from a former employer . Only one of them offered me a cup of tea before I took their photo .

The restaurant retains some of the bank's original features - you can even eat your dinner in the vault , surrounded by steel safety deposit boxes .....

The Infidels of Britain in Rochdale

The openly racist nationalist group The Infidels of Britain came to Rochdale on Saturday . They place themselves even further on the extreme right spectrum than groups such as the EDL . A combination of freezing weather and Police tactics of keeping them penned in and away from the expected counter protest by anti fascists meant the day passed without any trouble .

As per usual at the first sign of snow , newspapers are going weather picture crazy at the moment . This was my effort for the MEN taken in Rochdale

The team has a number of former Premier League players in it's ranks who didn't quite make the grade at the top level . I was given great access behind the scenes and shivering on the touchline while my hands froze to my cameras made me all nostalgic for my days at the Doncaster Free Press where covering non league football was part of every working week .
